Annual Registration Renewal

Registration Renewal

To maintain registration with NLPB, current registrants must complete the annual renewal process through NLPB’s Online Registrant Portal. Online annual renewal is available as of the third week of October and is due on or before November 30th of each year.  Late renewals will be charged an additional fee; for more information, visit the Fees & Timelines page.

Before you renew

  • Professional Development Requirements for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians
    • At least 15 credits of professional development activities must be entered into the NLPB Online Registrant Portal before the “Renew Now” button will appear on the member homepage.
  • Professional Liability Insurance Requirements for Registration
    • A certificate of insurance must be obtained from your insurance provider and uploaded to the NLPB Online Registrant Portal as proof of professional liability insurance. This document should bear the carrier name, policy number, and expiry date for your policy. A user guide on how to upload the certificate can be found in the Library section of your member homepage.
  • Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians are required to have been engaged in the practice of pharmacy for at least 420 hours in the preceding 2 calendar years in order to maintain their registration.
  • All outstanding invoices must be paid before the “Renew Now” button will appear on the member homepage.

The online renewal process can be saved after each step and returned for completion at a later time. For security purposes, the system will automatically log out of your account after 30 minutes of inactivity. Please note, the system does not recognize when a registrant is typing in a field, so if more than 30 minutes are spent typing, the information will not be successfully saved. Once you have completed the online renewal process, you can print your receipt by clicking “View/Print Invoices” and selecting the paid invoice as proof of payment.

PLEASE NOTE: Pharmacists-in-charge are responsible for verifying that all pharmacy staff members have completed these steps and have been issued a valid registration certificate before beginning their first shift in the pharmacy, as required by section 12. (f) of the Pharmacy Regulations.

For more information regarding logging in and renewing your registration in the new registrant portal, visit the NLPB Registrant and Pharmacy Portal page.
