January 20th, 2020

Message from NLPB Registrar Margot Priddle to all pharmacy professionals affected by the state of emergency in Eastern NL – Thanks for your efforts & devotion to quality pharmacy care.

**UPDATE** for Monday, January 20, is that the City of St. John’s remains in a State of Emergency. They are advising that some community pharmacies in the area can open for short periods of time. No other details have been released at this time. However, check your municipalities website for an advisory confirming the status for your area. Surrounding areas have different protocols for today.

Most recent advisory from the Minister of the Department of Health and Community Services:

Keep the following in mind if you require urgent pharmacy services:

1) Patients should contact their pharmacy & determine if they are open. If so, safely proceed to that pharmacy to consult with the pharmacist.
2) If a patient’s pharmacy is not open, please consult with a pharmacy that is open to see if they can assist.

3) If after consulting with the pharmacy the patient still requires assistance, please contact the Health line at 811 & they will provide information on other services to assist.
